Service boundaries parents should understand before paying

IGCSE UK provides online tutoring, mock marking, diagnostic review, guided study and exam planning support. These terms explain what the service can and cannot do, when paid work starts and what families should confirm before booking.

Independent service

IGCSE UK is an independent tutoring and exam preparation service. It is not affiliated with Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel, OxfordAQA or any other exam board.

Educational support

We provide teaching, marking, feedback, planning and study structure. We do not replace a school, official exam centre or formal exam registration process.

No grade guarantee

No tutoring service can responsibly guarantee a specific grade. Outcomes depend on student starting point, effort, time available, school support and exam-day performance.

What is confirmed before payment

A family does not need to pay until the main scope is clear enough to deliver responsibly.

When paid work starts

This matters because refunds depend on whether a lesson, report, marking task, planning review or guided-study checkpoint has started.

ServiceWork is normally treated as started when…What this means for the family
One-to-one tutoringA confirmed lesson time is reserved and the lesson is delivered or missed under the cancellation rules.Delivered or late-cancelled lessons may use lesson credit.
Mock markingA marker begins reviewing the submitted paper, answer script or mark scheme evidence.Marking that has started is normally not refundable.
Diagnostic reviewAn academic reviewer begins reading evidence and preparing the written recommendation. The review fee is normally not refundable after review work starts.
Exam planningRoute review, written planning or planning-call preparation begins.Planning work already started is normally not refundable.
Guided studySetup review, weekly plan, milestone marking or tutor checkpoint begins.Completed weeks and started checkpoints are normally not refunded.

Responsibilities during support

Clear responsibilities make the service easier to deliver and reduce misunderstandings.

Family responsibilities

Provide accurate student details, exam information where known, recent evidence, availability and prompt notice if plans change.

Student responsibilities

Attend lessons on time, complete agreed practice, bring materials and use feedback to correct mistakes between sessions.

Service responsibilities

Confirm scope before payment, communicate professionally, provide the agreed tutoring, marking, planning or feedback, and respond to concerns.

Important limitations

These limits are stated clearly so families can decide whether the service is appropriate before booking.

  • We do not guarantee a particular grade, exam result, school decision or official predicted grade.
  • We do not register students for exams or act as an official exam centre.
  • Official entry rules, fees, deadlines, coursework requirements and private-candidate availability must be confirmed with the relevant school, centre or exam board.
  • We do not sell copied exam-board papers, unofficial copyrighted notes or guaranteed A* shortcuts.
  • Online tools and free resources may support revision, but families remain responsible for checking what they upload to third-party tools.
  • Urgent exam requests are handled realistically. If there is too little time, we may recommend a narrower sprint, mock review or planning step rather than promising broad improvement.

If something goes wrong

Families should raise concerns early so the issue can be reviewed while it can still be corrected.

IssuePractical next step

Refund policy: review the current rescheduling, cancellation and refund rules. These terms are a service summary and do not remove mandatory consumer rights that may apply in the customer’s location.
