What a mock marking report can look like
This page shows an example report format, not a real student record. Actual feedback depends on the subject, exam board, paper type, handwriting quality and the work submitted.
Example summary table
A real report would use the student’s paper, mark scheme and exam-board expectations. The example below shows the type of decision-making information parents can expect.
| Area | Example finding | Recommended action |
|---|---|---|
| Score snapshot | 64% on one Mathematics paper, with higher accuracy on routine algebra than multi-step problem solving. | Do not only repeat full papers. Spend the next two weeks on targeted multi-step questions. |
| Strengths | Good recall of formulae and clear working for standard questions. | Keep short timed practice to protect marks the student already knows how to earn. |
| Priority errors | Marks lost through incomplete working, units, graph interpretation and rushing the final part of longer questions. | Create an error log and review the same error types after each practice set. |
| Exam technique | The student often reaches a correct method but does not show enough working to secure method marks. | Practise mark-scheme style working, especially for questions worth four marks or more. |
| Next 2 to 6 weeks | Three topic priorities and one timed-paper routine are identified. | Start with a short revision plan, then review progress before buying a larger package. |
What the written feedback may include
The report is written for both student and parent, so it should be specific enough to act on but clear enough for a non-specialist parent to understand.
Marked priorities
Which marks were lost through knowledge gaps, method errors, weak wording, time pressure or exam technique.
Topic focus
The highest-value topics or skills to review before the next mock, school assessment or exam session.
Next-step advice
Whether the student should continue self-study, request subject tutoring, book planning support or start a revision package.
