IGCSE Weekly Study Plan
Replace “revise Biology” with “answer two data questions and check figures and units”. Give each session a task you can finish and check. Leave room for schoolwork and rest, then adapt the example to your own subjects and time.
Start with the time you actually have
Put school, homework, activities and rest into the week first. Choose revision slots that can reliably remain. Give each slot one specific task: replace “read a chapter” with “explain three ideas, then answer two related questions”.
Prioritise an approaching paper, a repeated error or a gap that blocks later learning. Not every subject needs a daily slot, and there is no single daily duration that suits every student. Follow the school requirements and the relevant syllabus.
- With a recent mock: select two recurring difficulties from the script.
- Without a mock: use a short question set on a recently taught topic to check understanding.
- With untaught content: allow time for learning and explanation rather than treating it as revision of familiar work.
A week with room for schoolwork
This example uses Maths, Biology and English, not a full timetable for every subject. The durations are suggestions for arranging the week: shorten, split or change sessions to suit your circumstances. A rest day can stay empty.

Adjust the plan when a week goes differently
Schoolwork takes longer than expected
Keep the highest-priority practice task and move or drop the rest. Plan the next week from the time available, rather than carrying every unfinished task forward.
A question takes a long time and still does not make sense
Write down the first step that causes difficulty. Return to a taught example or ask for an explanation; scheduling more time alone may not resolve a misunderstanding.
The new questions are now independently correct
Reduce that topic to a later recheck and use the space for a remaining difficulty. Do not keep filling the week with the questions that feel most familiar.
Keep three things for the weekly review
One completed task, one correction and one new answer attempted without the earlier solution. If the new attempt still depends on prompts, keep that priority. If it is secure, change the task.
