IGCSE English as a Second Language tutoring for reading, writing and exam response

ESL support is most useful when it starts from the student writing, reading response or recent paper. That makes it possible to distinguish language accuracy, task response, organisation, vocabulary range, reading method and timing before a longer course is considered.

Writing with control

Improve task focus, paragraphing, sentence accuracy and vocabulary choices while keeping the student own voice clear.

Reading and response skills

Practise finding evidence, selecting relevant detail, paraphrasing carefully and responding to the actual question.

Listening and speaking preparation

Build comprehension strategies and spoken confidence through appropriate practice, with official assessment arrangements confirmed separately.

Common ESL marks that deserve a closer look

A writing sample or completed paper usually shows whether the student needs feedback on the language itself, the exam task or both.

What to send for a useful ESL recommendation

Please send work that shows the student writing or responses clearly. A score without the answers tells us much less.

Exam route

Exam board, syllabus or specification details, component route and expected exam session if known.

Writing or paper response

A recent writing task, reading response or completed paper, with the question and student answer visible.

Teacher feedback

Corrections, comments or a brief note on the concern, such as grammar, task response, reading or timing.

Timeline and language needs

Mock or exam dates, lesson windows and any preferred communication language for the parent.

Important: Support can prepare language skills and exam responses. Official speaking assessment, school submissions and component arrangements remain with the relevant school, centre or exam board.

Start with the student writing or recent ESL paper

The free assessment can show whether a £35 diagnostic, £45 marked script, £55 route-planning step or focused £45 lesson is the practical next move. Payment follows only after the service scope, timing, price and tutor fit are clear.
