What parents can expect from IGCSE support
Parents do not need to manage every question or homework task, but they should understand the student’s starting point, the recommended service, how progress will be reviewed and what the service cannot promise.
Before support
Share the student route, exam board, subjects, recent evidence and available lesson times.
During support
Expect lessons, marking or planning to focus on agreed priorities rather than trying to solve every subject at once.
After milestones
Review whether the student is completing tasks, understanding feedback and improving exam habits.
Before renewal
Use progress evidence to decide whether to continue, adjust subject focus, move into revision or pause.
What good parent feedback should answer
Useful feedback should make decisions easier, not simply say that the student worked hard.
| Parent question | Useful answer |
|---|---|
| What is the real problem? | Topic gap, weak method, exam technique, time management or unclear route. |
| What should happen next? | Mock marking, targeted lessons, planning, revision sprint or independent practice. |
| Is the package still sensible? | Continue, adjust, pause or change priority based on evidence. |
| What should the student do between sessions? | Specific practice, corrections, revision tasks or writing samples. |
